5K Run and Walk & 5K/8K Run Challenge

Packet Pickup: Thursday, October 24, 2013 – 4-7 p.m. - Up and Running, 6123 Far Hills Ave, 45459
Race Day Pickup – Begins at 4 p.m. at Community Golf Center
Parking: Parking is available in the Community Golf Center parking lot  

Same route as last year. The 5k loop will start and finish at Community Golf Course. download the race route

5K/8K Challenge – For runners who think they can complete 5K in under 25 minutes, enter the 8K Challenge.  Run 5K race plus additional 3K for a total distance of 8K.  Challengers compete in both 5K and 8K races.  Two races in one!  Requires pre-registration and $5 additional fee.*

*Challengers exceeding 25 minutes at the 5k mark will not be allowed to continue for the additional portion

Entry Fees: See Fee Schedule on Entry Form.  
T-Shirts: Custom logo t-shirts guaranteed for registrations received by 10/15/13. Long Sleeve Technical T option available for early registrants for $5 additional fee.  
Costume Contest: Top 3 children (0 to 11) and adults (11 and above). Judging for the costume contest will take place 45 minutes prior to the start of the race.

Age Awards (5k only) Top 3 Male and Female Age Divisions 8 and under, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30- 39, Masters 40 - 49, Grand Masters 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and over.

Awards ceremony after race. Not responsible for awards not picked up at that time.

Post Race Party: Post Race awards ceremony and refreshments at Community.

Rules: Baby joggers and dogs prohibited. Obey all instructions from race and public safety officials.  















Event proceeds will benefit two area non-profits focused on helping children. We will also be accepting in-kind dontations for both organizations (see appropriate items below). Anyone bringing donations will receive additional chances in the door prize raffle.

Crayons to ClassroomsCrayons to Classrooms connects essential resources to teachers, enhancing learning for children in need. Its mission is to collect and distribute basic school supplies at no cost to teachers of children in need.

Donation Items: Crayons (24-count), Pens, Pencils, Glue Sticks, Filler Paper, Folders, Scissors, Rulers, Markers, Notebooks or Facial Tissues.

Crayons to ClassroomsKettering Backpack Program strives to discreetly provide nutritious, easy to prepare foods to students who might otherwise go hungry over the weekends.

Donation Items: Individual pop-top microwavable ravioli, Individual serving cup of fruit, Small prepared pudding, Small cup of vegetables, Individual Mac & Cheese, Cereal, 100% Fruit Juice Box, Granola/Cereal Bar, Applesauce or Jars of peanut butter.
